█ █ █ RADIO

In 1994, I was offered a freelance position as a stringer for a National Public Radio member station, KWSU, broadcasting from Washington State University in Pullman. This was intensely challenging, requiring me to compose mini-feature stories that would be broadcast in a 90-second timeframe. I attended news events or interviewed newsmakers, then wrote the entire piece, including the announcer's introduction to my story. Over a telephone line, I recorded the story, which had to be done in one take. It was a thrilling experience. Some of the stories I wrote appear below.
